Liana Popa, BA BA

Research Assistant

Liana Popa is a student in the History Master’s Program at the University of Vienna, having completed Bachelor’s Degrees in Translation Studies and History.
For her Master's Thesis, she is investigating Maternal Mortality in Romania's Ceausescu Regime through a microhistorical lens, leaning on her strong research interest in contemporary women's and gender history.
She holds different tutoring and student assistant positions at the Department of Contemporary History in Vienna and is a scientific researcher within several extramural Vienna-based research projects.

In the HERESSEE project, she is the student project assistant. Her tasks include scientific and research assistance, organization and help with event management, communication with scholars and social media management.
